Nicole Lombardi is a performer, producer, and songwriter known for her work with the musical group Spalding Rockwell and her independent work. 
 
Spalding Rockwell is Nicole Lombardi  "Nikki" and Mary Louise Perlman (Platt) "ML". Spalding Rockwell collaborated with Armand Van Helden on the chart-topping song "Hear My Name". "Hear My Name" was co-written and co-recorded by Spalding Rockwell in their New York City recording studio, making them among the first women musicians to write/perform/produce/sound engineer their own Top 40 Charts song. Additionally, they are known for their performance on the "Hear My Name" MTV Europe hit video. "Hear My Name" is the first single on Armand Van Helden's mix album, New York: A Mix Odyssey, and his fifth album, Nympho. "Hear My Name" achieved top positions on the singles charts, reaching number 7 on the Billboard Dance Chart, top 30 on the World and Internet Charts, number 34 on the UK Singles Chart, and number 32 on the Australian Singles Chart. "Hear My Name" was also recorded in French by ML and Nicole and renamed "Je T'Appelle". The song reached Top 40 status on the French Pop Charts.
 
Nicole Lombardi grew up in Washington, DC, and moved to New York City at 13 to attend the School of American Ballet in New York City while attending the Professional Children's School for high school. Later, Nicole attended Tisch School of the Arts for her undergraduate studies and The George Washington University for graduate school. Nicole's early influences were found in many different arts communities, including the various music and dance communities in Washington, DC, and New York City. As a teen, Nicole frequently attended live performances at local venues such as the 9:30 Club and Tracks. In high school, Nicole met ML Perlman (Platt), which led to the creation of Spalding Rockwell in their college years. 
 
The first significant milestone in their career came when the duo signed a management contract with Handprint Entertainment/Benny Medina, manager to Jennifer Lopez. On Halloween, Spalding Rockwell's debut was made as a punk-hybrid collective 5-piece band at CBGS in New York City. After recording one critically acclaimed record with the band entitled Skin (Aum Fidelity), the group was renamed Daughter as Platt and Lombardi decided to continue as an electronic duo and keep the name Spalding Rockwell.
 
Early in their career, Spalding Rockwell developed their musical sound making demos with record producers, including Lee Stone (Producer, Method Man, Tical 0: The Prequel), Randy Wine (Sound Engineer, Stevie Nicks, Trouble in Shangri-La), and Arthur Baker (Afrika Bambaataa, New Order, Al Green). Additionally, Nicole Lombardi recorded independently with Mario Caldato Jr. (Beastie Boys, Björk) in a separate musical project. The confluence of these experiences led to the release of the Spalding Rockwell's dance club hit "White Cotton Panties" which gained popularity on Larry Tee's electroclash circuit. The song was featured on the electroclash album Badd Inc. Luxury, Excess, Extravagance. Defend Music released their full-length LP Kate in 2004. The album was written/performed/produced/engineered by ML and Nicole in their New York City recording studio. Notable musicians that appear on the record are Yuka Honda (Cibo Matto, Yoko Ono) and Chris Lombardi (Matador Records).
 
Additionally, Defend Music released Spalding Rockwell's Kate: The Remixes album in 2005. Next was their hit single collaboration with Armand Van Helden, "Hear My Name," which appeared on Van Helden's record "New York: A Mix Odyssey" in 2004 (Sony Southern Fried Records) and "Jenny" in 2005 (Ultra Records). 2004 ML and Nicole were invited to open the Winter Music Conference / Ultra Music Festival in Miami, FL, on Pete Tong's BBC Radio 1 livestream. 
 
In 2006, Nicole Lombardi collaborated (wrote/performed/produced/sound engineered) on the hit song "She Bites" by Poxy Music (Ministry of Sound), achieving an Australian Recording Industry Association nomination. In addition, in 2006, Nicole Lombardi produced songs with actress Jena Malone (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Life as a House) for her first record. Nicole Lombardi has been featured in numerous ad campaigns and international magazines in her career as a high fashion model, including Italian Vogue, Vibe Magazine, and W Magazine. She has also appeared in films, notably New Rose Hotel, directed by Abel Ferrara, and Love Goggles, directed by Tony Travis.
 
Nicole Lombardi's other accomplishments include dedicating time to positively impacting her community in Washington, DC, and Annapolis. Nicole has participated in fundraising and advocacy for many local organizations. She developed an enduring and beloved performing arts fundraising initiative for the theatreWashington/The Helen Hayes Awards. Nicole has supported the community through education, participating in building museum-based model educational outreach materials for a national educational initiative in conjunction with the Smithsonian Institution. She has been on the Refugee's International Young Humanitarian Committee and Rock Creek Park Conservancy Gala Host Committee. Nicole participated in the Historic Annapolis organization's annual fundraising event, researching and documenting important Annapolis historical facts. Nicole has hosted fundraising events for the Wellness House in Annapolis and TheatreWashington/The Helen Hayes Awards in Washington, DC.
